Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Jesse Field Microfinance Bank Limited ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") concerning your access to and use of our banking services, website, mobile applications, and other platforms (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use our Services.

Eligibility

To use our Services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Be a Nigerian citizen or legal resident
  • Possess a valid Bank Verification Number (BVN)
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Account Registration and Security

Account Creation

When you create an account, you must provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Your Responsibilities
  • Keep your password and PIN confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Use strong, unique passwords
  • Never share your login credentials with third parties
  • Update your contact information promptly when it changes
  • Monitor your account regularly for suspicious activity
Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we suspect fraudulent activity, violation of these Terms, or non-compliance with regulatory requirements.

Banking Services and Transactions

Available Services

Our Services include savings accounts, loans, fixed deposits, money transfers, bill payments, and other financial services as may be offered from time to time.

Transaction Authorization
  • All transactions require proper authorization (PIN, OTP, biometric, or password)
  • You authorize us to process transactions initiated through your account
  • Transactions are subject to daily and monthly limits as communicated to you
  • We may decline transactions that appear suspicious or exceed your limits
Fees and Charges

Account maintenance fees, transaction charges, and other service fees apply as outlined in our Tariff Guide. We reserve the right to modify fees with prior notice. You agree to pay all applicable fees and charges.

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Engage in money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crimes
  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access our Services
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of our Services
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users or our staff
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights

Intellectual Property Rights

All content, features, and functionality of our Services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, and software, are the exclusive property of Jesse Field Microfinance Bank Limited and are protected by Nigerian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or exploit any content from our Services without our prior written consent.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jesse Field Microfinance Bank Limited shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Service interruptions or technical failures beyond our control
  • Unauthorized access to your account resulting from your failure to secure credentials
  • Actions of third-party service providers

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount of fees paid by you in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to contact us to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. Contact our Customer Service at support@jessefieldmfb.com or call +234 803 456 7890.

Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act of Nigeria. The arbitration shall be conducted in Lagos, Nigeria, in the English language.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Lagos State shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes not subject to arbitration.

Regulatory Compliance

Jesse Field Microfinance Bank Limited is licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). We comply with all applicable banking regulations, including:

  • Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations
  • Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) requirements
  • Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act
  • Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR)
  • Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) guidelines
  • Counter-Terrorism Financing regulations

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email, SMS, or through our platforms. Your continued use of our Services after such notification constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must discontinue use of our Services and close your account.

Account Termination

Your Right to Terminate

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. You must settle all outstanding obligations before closure. We will process your request within 30 business days.

Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, fail to comply with KYC requirements, maintain a dormant account, or if required by law or regulatory authorities.
